Somewhere along the way, mothers were told to shrink.
To wear whatever “works” and deal with it.
You all know how maternity and nursing wear has been notoriously ugly and unflattering like you’re supposed to disappear before you “bounce back”.
I’m not interested in that. We deserve so much more than that, don’t you agree?
You don’t disappear. You expand.
I’m Wunmi.
I created Iyadé because I couldn’t find anything that I could nurse my daughter in that made me feel beautiful and felt honest - nothing that reflected how powerful, complex, and alive this new role really is.
Every Iyadé piece is breastfeeding-friendly and made using handmade West African cotton batik, in collaboration with artisans in Ghana and Nigeria.
This isn’t fast fashion. This is intentional.
Every piece is made to meet you exactly where you are— pregnant, breastfeeding and beyond.
What Makes This Different
You shouldn’t have to wear something shapeless and boring just to feed your child.
You don't have to choose between your role as a mother, your sense of style, and showing up in the world as you.
You can grow. You can nurse. You can move. And still feel like yourself.
Trust me, motherhood looks better in colour!
COLOUR
Colour that compliments all shades and hues, that makes you feel bright and empowered!
You deserve colour that reminds the world that you are meant to be seen and revered.
CHAOS
Camouflage the chaos of life with kids and embrace the truth of life as a mum, and still look cute doing it.
Because if everything in your life is changing, the least your clothes can do is meet you wherever you are and lift you up.
CHANGE
You don't need a whole new wardrobe for each stage of your journey
Iyadé grows and changes with you through it all— whether you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, postpartum, or parent of a threenager. Postpartum is forever. So is Iyadé!
We’re making space for mothers to feel good again!
Mothering
We won’t let you disappear.
We embrace the messiness of spilt milk, the unpredictability of motherhood, and honour all that you were, all that you are and all that you're growing to be!
"Iya" means Mother in Yoruba. "Dé" means to arrive. However you have arrived in this role of life-giver and sustainer, however you name yourself — Iyadé is for you.
You deserve to be seen, centered, and celebrated for all that you do.
Iya, you have arrived— and the spotlight is on you.
